Information Visitors Provide
Search Terms
When a visitor enters a name, county, state, or similar lookup detail into a search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider operating the tool. Becker County Inmate Population does not keep its own stored log of those search terms.
Messages
If a visitor sends an email or other contact message, we may keep the submitted information long enough to review and respond. Those messages are not shared outside the organization unless a legal requirement applies.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, this site may collect technical details when pages load. That information can include:
- IP address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on those pages.
- Referring website, when available.
- Date and time of the visit.
Cookies
Cookies may be used to understand site traffic and visitor behavior. A browser can block or delete cookies, although some features or partner tools may work differently after cookies are disabled.

- To keep the website available, stable, and reasonably fast.
- To send search requests to the correct partner service.

Outside Websites and Services
This site links to jail rosters, sheriff pages, Minnesota court and corrections resources, public data materials, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor opens an outside site, that site's privacy policy and terms control the visit.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites for targeted advertising. That tracking is handled by those partners, not by Becker County Inmate Population.
Who May Receive Information
We do not sell personal data. Information may be made available to limited parties when needed for the site or required by law:
- Search partners that process lookup queries.
- Analytics providers that measure site use.
- Advertising networks.
- Law enforcement agencies, courts, or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.
